Genesis 1

Simply from Genesis 1, we learn so much about God. Jesus said "I am the Alpha and the Omega," and thus the Bible both begins and ends with God.

First this: God...

God was in the beginning. He started the whole process. He made something from nothing.

God spoke: "Light!"...
God spoke "Sky!"...
God spoke "Separate!... Land, appear!"

God is the great conductor, orchestrating everything to come into being. God is the painter, splashing colour from His palate wherever He wills it to go.

God made two big lights... God placed them in the heavenly sky to light up the earth...

God is the great architect, designing and placing elements of His creation according to His exacting blueprints to carry out their intended purpose.

God spoke: "Let us make human beings in our image... so they can be responsible for the fish in the sea, the birds in the air, the cattle, and, yes, Earth itself..."

God, as the creator, created us in His image, thus giving us the ability to create. He also delegated authority to us. We were created to basically be a mirror of God on this earth -- to be creative and to have authority. Wow...

God blessed them... "I've given you..."

God is benevolent -- He provides for His creation: us!
